Jungian in-depth therapy

Jungian in-depth therapy is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on the unconscious. The unconscious is seen as a deeper layer of our psyche – hence the word “Depth” – and it is the origin of our motivations.

We are not aware of the vast majority of our motivations and that can get in the way. Unconscious fears and insecurities cause us to get in our own way. For example, we feel that we are ‘stuck’, that ’things just don’t work out’, or more generally, for example, that we are sad, stressed, irritated or insecure. Psychological complaints almost always have to do with a lack of awareness of underlying potential.

The unconscious is the basis from which our daily consciousness originates. In the child, consciousness and unconscious form a unity, but as we develop there is a separation between the two. This separation can be such that there is no longer any contact between our unconscious and our conscious.

If our consciousness is cut off from our unconscious, we are also cut off from our psychic power source. As a result, we feel lethargic and depressed. We feel exhausted and run out of energy. In addition, the unconscious will do everything it can to make itself known: it engulfs us in the form of symptoms, such as (compulsive) actions and fantasies that we have no control over. Fears, panic and compulsive neurosis are all the result of a disturbed communication between conscious and unconscious. A psychosis is an example of extreme engulfment by the unconscious.

Symbols play an important role in restoring contact with our deeper layer, the unconscious. Living symbols are meaningful expressions of something that is not defined, they stimulate our imagination. They can be found in our dreams, fantasies and all kinds of artistic expressions. Depth therapy therefore uses dream interpretation, active Imagination (conscious fantasy), drawings, but also of our body language to restore contact with the unconscious.

Do you recognize:

Repetitive thoughts that you would rather not have and push away as soon as possible.

Thoughts or feelings of fear, sadness and/or loneliness.

When we experience physical or psychological complaints, it is often because we displace and suppress something we do not want to feel or experience. This is often unconscious. When we see what is seen, heard, felt, visibly audible and palpable, your energy can move again and you will experience that it gives you strength. You no longer have to suppress and that ensures that you experience lightness and freedom.

Jungian Proces:

Step 1
Introduction: The first meeting can consist of:
* Family constellation
* Dream analysis
* Archetype card session
* Journey through your chakras
* an open conversation
Duration 1 – 1 1/2 hours
Step 2
After the first meeting we start what Jung called the Small Therapy – this is about discovering the shadow. The shadow is that part of the psyche that is not visible and wants to become conscious.
Step 3
After the small therapy we continue with the big therapy. In this we go deeper into the shadow and look at the Animus (unconscious masculine in the woman) / Anima (unconscious feminine in the man). What wants to rise from the shadow to the light.
Step 4
We have examined, perceived, thought about and felt the shadow. What does our intuition want to tell us about out shadow and what do we have to do to integrate these parts.
